TB Alert
Tuberculosis (TB) is on the increase in Britain. The common myth that TB died out years ago can be dangerous if neither patient nor medical staff think soon enough to check for it, delaying diagnosis and effective treatment and allowing the disease to spread. But once diagnosed, with the correct treatment it IS curable, with no long term health effects, and quickly becomes non-infectious.
TB Alert is working to raise awareness of TB in the UK, among patients AND doctors to ensure that everyone gets the treatment they need as quickly as possible. We also have projects overseas to help poor people in high endemic countries get access to treatment. Click here to find out more about TB Alert.
