Post subject: i wish i knew....... Posted: July 13, 2006 1:00 amMy husbands brother has told many fibs in his past including things about cancer. He has told us recently that he has bowel cancer and that since discovering it 5 weeks ago and had surgery in that 5 weeks to have it removed that it has now spread to his testicles. We have been worried sick and not sure what to beleive. (even tho this might sound bad).
Can anybody offer any advice as to how we find out whether he is telling the truth this time. Its just tearing my husband up inside and we dont know what to do.

It must be a very distressing time for you and your hubby. The usual sites for bowel cancer to spread to are lungs and liver.
It is normal to 'stage' the cancer following a bowel cancer diagnosis, eg see how far it has spread using scans and barium enemas.
They do this before surgery.
I hope this helps to find the answers.
